About Us

WorldSport Pty Ltd has been operating the Gold Coast Rugby Carnival (GCRC) since 1993 and in 2004 also 
took over primary responsibility for the Gold Coast Netball Carnival. In 2010 we are set to launch our first Hockey
carnival and are working in conjunction with The Southport School on a Soccer Tournament to be held in Easter.

It is our aim to provide participants of every event and any travel package we organise with a memorable experience. 
The feedback we get indicates that we generally do a good job.

Barry Honan - Director
Barry is also the driving force behind DigiSport International, the multimedia sports knowledge company that brings the principles of expert coaching into the digital age. There are DigiSport CD-ROM coaching packs for rugby union (DigiRugby), rugby league (DigiLeague), cricket (DigiCricket), netball (DigiNetball) and beach volleyball(DigiBeach), plus a series of individual skills coaching videos and DVDs that would suit both rugby codes and the new junior football coaching aid, Pass Catch Kick Tackle.

Louisa Honan - General Manager

After 15 years involvement with Worldsport, Louisa Honan has been appointed to the role of General Manager. 

Taking over the reigns from Barry Honan, Louisa will be in charge of the overall management of the business, marketing and finance management, as well as the event co-ordination of our two major events the Gold Coast Rugby and Netball Carnival.

Louisa holds a Bachelor of Business degree majoring in Marketing and Communication.  
Louisa has been involved in various ways with the Gold Coast Carnival since its inception and has over 10 years experience in various marketing and event management roles.

Amber Yabsley - Travel Manager

 Amber deals with all carnival applications, and organises all travel and accommodation needs for rugby and netball participants. Amber Yabsley has joined the Worldsport team as our dedicated Travel Manager. 

Amber holds an Assoc. Diploma in Travel and Tourism and has over 13 years Travel Industry experience in various management roles. Most recently, Amber has worked for 5 years with Flight Centre bringing the benefits of one of the world's largest travel companies to the Carnival management.

Amber also has personal experience and understanding with sporting touring parties as a player with many years (too many to mention) at representative level with Netball.
