The Canterbury Gold Coast Netball Carnival's pinnacle award is the "Spirit of Netball".

This is awarded to the outstanding team for sporting conduct, friendliness, conduct and contribution both on and off the court during the carnival week.

All teams and carnival officials cast their vote and the winner is announced at the awards and farewell ceremony on the final day of competition.

You would think that the smiles on the faces of the girls from Warwick Senior High School in WA indicated that they had actually won the Spirit Of Netball Trophy.  They did indeed come close as did a number of other groups but the winner in 2008 was New Zealand's Wanganui High School.
