The emphasis at our Carnivals is not on “all-out” competition but rather on encouragement of players, management and supporters to enjoy a holiday on Australia’s Gold Coast - one of the world’s premiere holiday destinations - whilst being part of a great sporting event.

Both the Rugby and the Netball Carnivals share the same ideals, that teams should come together on the Gold Coast to:

•  pit their skills against a variety of opponents;
•  honour and respect the game and the opposing team, whatever the result, and
•  create and cement the lasting friendships that team sports have always produced

The main award at both the Carnivals is the ‘Spirit’ Award. This trophy is awarded to one outstanding team for sportsmanship, friendliness, conduct and contribution both on and off the field during the Carnival week.

One player from each team will also be nominated for the “Barbarian Award” for their contribution during the Carnival. These players are nominated by team management for reasons that show the “true spirit” of the player’s conduct throughout the Carnival.
