The Event .. The Gold Coast Football Festival (GCFF)
The Gold Coast Football Carnival is in its second year of running at The Southport School. In 2010 eight Senior teams from the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Western Australia, participated with over 120 football player’s competing over three days of competition. The aim of the inaugural event was to provide open boys teams with pre-season competition, additional competitive matches and the opportunity to enjoy a sporting holiday on the Gold Coast.
In 2012 the Festival will be open to U15 and Open boy’s sides and the aim is to attract 16-24 teams to participate in the three days of competition. There will be a rest day on either side of the playing days Teams may simply come along and participate in a challenging and rewarding football festival or opt to take advantage of the multitude of things the Gold Coast has to offer .. the world's best beaches, exciting Theme Parks, fabulous shops etc.
Worldsport is proud and excited to join with staff at the Southport School in the organisation of this event. The event will be promoted nationally and internationally and with the attraction of the Gold Coast, the fabulous facilities at TSS, the reputation of Worldsport as a sports tour specialist and the huge numbers participating in football, it is guaranteed that the event will grow in a very short time to match the numbers that annually attend the July Rugby, Netball and Hockey Carnival
The Venue .. The Southport School (TSS)
“If there is a more scenic and picturesque venue for a football tournament in Australia, I am yet to find it. Now that we have the Gold Coast Utd based at TSS, the grounds and training environment have been upgraded to a professional standard. The first ever ‘Gold Coast Football Festival’ at the school was a great success, but over the next two or three years we hope to increase the number and make the event more entertaining both on and off the field”
